Last week we checked our mailbox expecting the normal slew of insurance bills and junk mail. That was not the case! In the mailbox were checks!
Eagle Mine Grant for workshop upgrades
In July we had requested $1,000 from Eagle Mine for upgrades to our workshop. After not hearing anything we had pretty much forgotten about this. Meagen Morrison, Communities Coordinator at Eagle, popped in that same morning and excitedly asked if we had gotten the check yet? Of course we check the mail as soon as it came later that day. To date, Eagle Mine has contributed more money to Revolutions than any other donor.
Thank you Eagle Mine!
Marquette Culinary Ride
The Marquette Culinary Ride was the first of RadTour's events held outside of Iowa and Revolutions was the recipient of funds raised through registration. The bike tour was a huge success, taking participants to various local farms where delicious food was served. The event was held over the Labor Day weekend and the weather was fantastic. Revolutions received $220 in support.
Thank you RadTour and Marquette Culinary Ride participants!
Billman Lemonade Stand
At the top of a long hill during the Marquette Culinary Ride, entrepreneurial kids Avalyn and Sam Billman set up a lemonade stand. They donated 25% of their earnings to Revolutions, which was also presented in large-check form (see photo below).
Thank you Sam and Avalyn!
Afterparty at Blackrocks Brewery
Following the Marquette Culinary Ride, participants gathered at Blackrocks Brewery (duh!). Blackrocks donated $1 from the sale of each beer to Revolutions for a total of $125.
We are honored, humbled and extremely appreciative of the support (financial and otherwise) that comes from our community here in Marquette.
Thank you Marquette!
